Hello Reader,
Anxiety isn’t just a feeling in your mind. It’s a full-body state that can affect your thoughts, your energy, your sleep, and even your sense of perspective.
As a close relative mine has recently experienced - it can feel really dreadful. Many people don't realise quite how horrible it can be. Strangely, it's sort of designed that way, and it can be an urgent call for change, even when we don't know what needs to change. It can feel like dread, and it can feel really awful. Thankfully, it can also pass.
One of the most effective ways hypnotherapy helps with anxiety is by going beyond coping tools, and more deeply calming the natural stress responses behind the sense of dread.
It starts with understanding - talking about how the brain creates anxiety and what we can do about it. These insights alone are often really enlightening and helpful.
We don’t just talk about the struggle though. We also focus on what feels good. What you enjoy. Moments when the anxiety wasn’t there. And what life might look like when it’s no longer in control.
Then comes hypnosis. This is where the body and mind get the chance to shift gears. Hypnosis gently helps move us from fight-or-flight into calmer, more restorative states. These include what are sometimes called rest-and-digest and tend-and-befriend. Getting out and about. Positive states, that are natural to all of us. We all already know how to do them - we just forget sometimes.
There’s no pressure. No effort. Just a calm, enjoyable way of letting the nervous system rebalance. It’s often more natural and effective than people expect.
When anxiety softens, a lot of other things become possible.
That’s where real change begins.
Pricing changes
And just a reminder that in September my prices are going up. This is the first increase for 10 years, and still represents excellent value and return on investment. I'm doing this because it will help me get more value to more people, across the pricing spectrum.
For example I'll be able to offer more free materials, lower-price courses and I will continue to offer discounted sessions for patients referred to me by social prescribers at GP surgeries. This really makes a difference for people who are struggling financially.
Existing clients who have seen me in July and August will continue on the existing rate for now. I'll explain more next week but please get in touch if you have any concerns or questions.
See you next week,
Adam
