Dear Reader,
If you know anyone with a flying phobia, then they need to
LISTEN TO THIS
It's my recent podcast conversation with Laura Whyte at Whyfield. In it I talk about my origin story, helping someone get back on a plane; and the life energy that released as she asked,
"What else am I not doing that I easily could ... ?"
There’s about 40,000 people in Cornwall alone who don’t fly as often or as comfortably as they might. It’s an unmeasured cost, but it's huge. If each person saved 5 minutes a day, that’s a week of their life they get back in a year. At a rough estimate: £4 million pounds on the Cornish economy. Not to mention keeping the airlines afloat and air routes open.
Of course it’s the personal gain that matters most. The personal implications are huge. Freedom. Confidence. Power. If you have a flying phobia, you probably can do something about it. Who knows what follows.
In the podcast I describe how there is an even wider opportunity: there are 10 million people (NHS figures) in the UK living with a phobia. At 14% of the population phobias are the most prevalent form of anxiety. And yet possibly the least talked about.
I want to address this and I need your help.
Before I tell you more, I want to make a very specific call to a very specific kind of person. If you’re someone who knows how to bring things to life: organising events, shaping projects, rallying a group, building a movement - I need you. I don’t just want to talk about helping millions of people. I want to do it. And to do it well, I need people who can help coordinate, create, structure and amplify. If that’s you, please reach out. If you know someone who fits that description, forward this to them.
My framework is called I RISE and it's 5 natural, easy steps. The process starts with "I" because we each have the power within. We have outsourced too much of our own health, and there are so many easy things we can do to be healthy. You are the expert of your own life. You are the master of your own destiny. You are in control. You are in charge of the narrative you create.
"The human capacity to heal is much greater than we often give it credit for." (me, at 17:14)
The following steps draw on this natural capacity:
- R = Redirect your Reflection onto positive things
- I = Imagine your life with the problem gone
- S = Settle your nervous system. It knows what to do.
- E = Expansion: happens all by itself.
Towards the end of the podcast my tone makes a plea, my Call To Action. I want your help. I have the vision. I now want to do what I’m talking about in the podcast: turning imagination into reality. If you’d like to be involved, I’d love to hear from you.
I close the podcast with this thought:
Get ready to expand, because it might happen sooner than you think!
Yikes!
Have a great week.
Adam
PS As always please let me know how this lands (excuse the pun)
